Jackson County Health Department (JCHD) offers school, camp, and sports physicals for children under 18, as well as immunizations and hemoglobin, lead, and urine lab tests. All of these services, with the exception of blood lead testing, are offered by appointment at JCHD to all Southern Illinois residents. Blood lead testing is restricted to Jackson County residents only. Physical exams are $42; lab fees are $3.50 for hemoglobin and $2.50 for UA/dipstick. Blood lead assessments are done at all physicals and blood lead testing will be done if indicated. The fee for blood lead testing ranges from $15-$35, depending on client income.
Most immunizations are $15 each. Immunization clinics are offered on the following days, and no appointment is needed: Mondays and Wednesdays, 12 noon to 3:30 p.m., and Thursdays from 12 noon to 5:30 p.m. The above services are offered in the front building at the health department.
We accept cash, checks, and IDPA medical card at the time of service.
Please call 684-3143, ext. 119 or ext. 150 to schedule appointments or for further information on any of the above services. We suggest you schedule exams early to avoid the back-to-school rush!
