All births and deaths that occur in Jackson County are registered through Jackson County Health Department. Certified copies of birth records are available for a fee of $15 for the first copy and $2 for each additional copy. Certified copies of death records are available for a fee of $17 for the first copy and $4 for each additional copy. Records are kept at JCHD for 10 years. For birth and death records more than 10 years old, contact the Jackson County Clerk's office at 618-687-7360, or the Vital Records Division of the Illinois Department of Public Health at 217-785-3164 Click one of the following to download a mail-in request form for certified copies.
